Apparently one of the reasons why the Government has been so keen to declare the recession formally over is so that they can scale back their ‘caring debt management’ programme with individuals and businesses. January, 2010 has seen the lowest on record for income generation for HMRC, so now they are getting their staff to chase in mere £500 of 1 month old tax debt.
This is unheard of in previous times. So how does this add up to this Government’s declared caring and understanding policies to help businesses and individuals through the recession?
